What Is Sports Osteopathy?

About Your Practitioner

Runners

Sports osteopathy applies traditional osteopathic principles to the physical demands of sport and exercise. It focuses on:

  • Diagnosing and treating injuries caused by overuse, strain or imbalance

  • Restoring flexibility, stability and joint mobility

  • Enhancing performance and preventing future injuries

  • Supporting recovery after training, competition or surgery

At Virtue Healthcare, we combine hands-on osteopathic treatment with acupuncture, K-taping, cupping therapy, massage gun techniques, rehabilitation exercises, and tailored movement advice.

This integrated, evidence-based approach not only relieves pain and reduces tension but also improves circulation, supports tissue healing, and optimises your body’s natural performance and recovery.

Who I Work With

I’m Nazan, a registered osteopath and qualified acupuncturist with a genuine passion for helping people move well and stay active.

I’ve always loved being on the move myself — whether that’s playing tennis, swimming, practising yoga or spending time in the gym. So I completely understand how frustrating it can be when pain or injury starts to get in the way of the things you enjoy.

In my treatments, I draw on both clinical expertise and real-world experience. Every plan is tailored to you — practical, effective, and designed to support your goals, whether that’s getting back to sport, improving performance, or simply feeling more comfortable in your own body.

I work with a wide range of active people — from recreational gym-goers to dedicated athletes — who want to stay injury-free and move with confidence.

Many of my patients come from the following sports and activities:

  • Runners, often with hip, knee or Achilles discomfort from overuse or changes in training

  • Cyclists, who may experience neck, shoulder or lower-back tension from time spent on the bike

  • Gym-goers and fitness enthusiasts, managing muscular imbalance or recovery after strength training

  • Tennis, squash and padel players, with shoulder, elbow or forearm strain

  • Swimmers, dealing with shoulder or neck tension caused by repetitive motion or breathing technique

  • Yoga and Pilates practitioners, who may experience joint instability or postural tightness

  • Climbers, with forearm, wrist or shoulder issues linked to grip and load

  • Golfers and hockey players, working through lower-back, wrist or groin strain

Whether you train competitively or simply enjoy keeping active, my goal is to help your body recover fully, move freely, and perform at its best — without fear of pain holding you back.
