About
Discover more about Nazan Garcia—his personal philosophy, journey into holistic care, and the passions that drive him.
My philosophy
My approach to health is deeply rooted in the belief that the body is an interconnected system where physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects must work in harmony to achieve optimal well-being. Both Classical Chinese Medicine and osteopathy share this holistic perspective, though they are grounded in different principles and philosophies.
By integrating these two approaches, I can view and treat the body as a unified whole, offering a deeper and more comprehensive approach to healing.
In my practice, I blend the wisdom of Classical Chinese Medicine with the principles of the Osteopathic models during assessments and treatments. It’s like wearing two hats: I approach each patient with a sense of which method—acupuncture, osteopathy, or a combination—will best suit their needs. While my assessments guide this decision, I respect that some patients may prefer solely acupuncture or osteopathy, and I honour those preferences in their treatments.
Communication is at the heart of my patient care. During each assessment, I ask patients about their expectations for the session. This dialogue helps me set realistic goals and personalise the treatment to meet their unique needs.
My Journey into Holistic Healing
When people ask what inspired me to become an acupuncturist, I always say, “I was born to do this.” I had a clear sense of what I wanted to do, but I didn’t know which profession would bring it to life. I explored fields like psychology, medicine and Western philosophy, but each left me feeling like something was missing.
Everything changed during a charitable trip to Africa. There, I met people with similar mindsets who told me about a school near my home offering courses that might interest me. While browsing their website, I discovered a course on acupuncture—something I had never heard of before. For some reason, it sparked my curiosity, so I enrolled. During my very first lecture, I knew it: This is what I’ve been searching for!
That was over 20 years ago, and my passion for Chinese medicine has only deepened since.
My journey into holistic medicine began in Spain at the prestigious Escuela Neijing. I earned my first qualifications in acupuncture there in 2006. Eager to expand my knowledge, I later moved to London, where I earned a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Acupuncture from Greenwich University and a Licentiate from the International College of Oriental Medicine (ICOM).
I believe in practising what I preach, so I regularly receive acupuncture treatments myself. These sessions not only help me understand how my patients might experience the needles but also keep me healthy and injury-free.
Around 2016, I began swapping treatments with a local osteopath and sharing patients. I noticed that combining acupuncture and osteopathic treatments created a powerful synergy. Patients often felt that the two modalities worked on different levels, and the osteopath reported that her treatments became more effective after my acupuncture sessions.
This realisation inspired me to pursue a five-year degree in osteopathy, enabling me to combine these complementary practices. I became a registered osteopath and earned my Bachelor’s Degree from the London School of Osteopathy.
Today, my dual qualifications allow me to integrate Eastern and Western medical principles, offering a truly holistic and comprehensive approach to treatment. My goal is to empower my patients to achieve balance and optimal health by addressing their unique needs from multiple perspectives.

More Than Just a Practitioner
Curiosity has always been at the heart of who I am. In Chinese astrology, I have a Rabbit in my chart—a symbol of intellectual curiosity, wisdom, and thoughtful decision-making. This perfectly reflects my love for exploring the why behind things.
Beyond my clinical expertise, I am a dedicated lifelong learner, passionate about blending ancient wisdom with modern research. I find great synergy between Eastern philosophy and contemporary science; understanding one deepens my grasp of the other. My interests span medical anthropology, Chinese medical history, Chinese philosophy, and Buddhism—all of which profoundly enrich my holistic approach to patient care.
Outside of academia and clinical practice, I am a passionate sports enthusiast. I enjoy challenging my body through swimming, yoga, and tennis. My personal involvement in these activities gives me a deep understanding of the physical demands they place on the body, which I bring into my treatments. This allows me to specialise in preventing and treating sports-related injuries, offering athletes and active individuals tailored recovery and prevention plans.
Since 2002, I have followed a vegetarian diet—a personal choice that aligns with my principles and supports my well-being. However, I firmly believe in respecting individual paths to health, and I approach dietary preferences with an open mind.
When I’m not treating patients or studying, you’ll often find me with a good book in hand. I’m an avid reader, always eager for recommendations, and believe in the transformative power of books—whether found in ancient texts or modern literature.
